People can get really nerdy about sneakers. Like when someone gets a toothbrush out to scrub their Reeboks... that's overkill. But here's something we could geek out over. RYZ is a Portland, Oregon company founded by ex-sneaker-industry types who invite you to design the perfect pair of shoes. All you have to do is download their shoe template and use Illustrator or Photoshop to customize it. People vote on their favorite designs, and the most popular ones are manufactured and sold around the world at the RYZ shop (for $90).
RYZ shares profits with the designer, who also gets to be like, "Dude, I designed a sneaker." Very cool.
Contest 10 is going on now.
