We Heart BUST!

Any magazine that puts Amy Poehler on the cover, has ten full pages of music-and-books coverage, and gives us DIY perfume lessons is kind of a no-brainer. We got a sneak peek at BUST's December/January issue (on stands tomorrow), and here are five stories you can look forward to reading: 1. Poehler Express. Talking to former Saturday Night Live co-star Rachel Dratch, Amy P. makes us love her even more when she says, "Girls between the ages of 9 and 13 keep reminding me of how fun it is not to care about what other people think." Yes! We love her Smart Girls at the Party.

2. Sister Act. A roundup of girl-friendly orgs that could use your help -- Girls Incorporated and Girls Write Now, for example.

3. Lovin' From the Oven. Baked goods you can give as affordable holiday gifts with homemade heart. I'm into cheap-but-meaningful.

4. Drill, Baby, Drill. The history of women as crackerjack home mechanics. Who knew?

5. Fat Chances. A thoughtful essay by Wendy McClure about "real" sized women on reality TV -- celebration or exploitation?

BUST's website is cool, too, but think about subscribing if you're still into tactile reading. You know, glossy pages, home delivery day and fashion spreads you can tear out for inspiration boards. Sigh.

PS - Even Liz Lemon of "30 Rock" is a fan. Seriously.
