It seems like everyone and their mom and their mom's mom has a style blog these days, so you have to be pretty awesome to stand out in a sea of fashionistas. Enter: Rebecca of The Clothes Horse. With great photography and gobs of personal style, Rebecca shares her outfits and inspirations on her three-year-old blog. It's original, stylish and quirky. But what really bestilled my heart is Nasha, a little toy bunny that occasionally poses for photo shoots. Read more about that in our Q&A with Rebecca! I Heart Daily: Why/when/how did you start blogging?
Rebecca: I started blogging in the summer of 2007 when I was in rural PA and feeling creatively starved. I had gotten into blogs while I was studying abroad in Japan and was starved for some English reading and becoming increasingly fashion-conscious. After I came back to the States reading blogs wasn't enough and I wanted to connect with the bloggers I had admired and express myself creatively.
IHD: Who are your style muses? R: Sofia Coppola is a big inspiration; I love her fashion sense but also her style as it is reflected in her films. Faye Dunaway in Bonnie and Clyde has my dream wardrobe. I'm also really inspired by other bloggers and the often nameless ladies who get snapped for street fashion blogs.
IHD: How do you describe your personal style? R: Quirky, whimsical, and feminine; I've never considered myself a girly-girl but I do have a penchant for really feminine dresses. I think my style is best showcased through my accessory choices though: claw jewelry, colorful and foil-printed tights, DIY'd illustrations on pieces, and tiaras or vintage fascinators.
IHD: Other interests besides fashion? R: Law (especially Intellectual Property; I am planning to go to law school next fall), art, traveling, and old movies. My blog is actually the only place I talk about fashion!
IHD: What's on your wish list right now? R: Lace-up boots for fall, unique dresses for NYC in September, an army surplus jacket, a maxi dress and skirt, the perfect vintage doctor's bag, and silk blouses.
IHD: What are you hearting right now? R: Dry shampoo -- it's amazing! Chrome nail polish, Gerald Durrell novels (like My Family and Other Animals), Mumford & Sons "Little Lion Man," street vendor crepes, and IFB (so many good articles lately!).
IHD: Um, I LOVE Nasha -- tell me about her origins and explain who she is for our readers. R: Nasha is a Kidrobot Labbit that I adopted a few years back and quickly realized she was quite a character. Initially, I got her because I wanted something to photograph regularly in interesting places, but she turned into this really adventurous spirit and a bit of a diva. Most recently she starred in a little stop-motion film I made where she played the Pied Piper to many of my heels!
This is too cute for words. Watch Nasha do her thang:
