Not So Basic Black Tights

A little black dress means wearing a pair of black tights, right? Sleek, monochromatic, classic... predictable. Instead, use those tights as an accessory! If you're not bold enough to go shocking pink or electric blue, here are some alternatives to black tights that won't make you feel like your legs are shouting. Black Diagonal Stripe Tights, Top Shop ($18, pictured). These black and white zebra-esque stripes are tres mod. Wear them with a swingy a-line dress to get the full Edie effect.

Dancing Like A Star Tights, Mod Cloth ($30). Just like most things at Mod Cloth, these tights are sweet and girly, and if you squint really hard, I think you can make out the Big Dipper on the outside of your right thigh.

Cara Tights, Legxicon ($11). Purple geometric shapes cascade down the side of your leg (kind of like if Tetris only had one shape).

Sparkle Pantyhose, American Apparel ($17). A pair of silver and black sparkle tights will add just the right about of pizazz to an outfit. Warning: they are not responsible for spontaneous jazz hands.
