No Mess-up Makeup!

I keep bold beauty statements to my manicures. Call me boring, but I like a no-fuss, neutral face. Because of that, most of my makeup is pretty much fail-proof -- I never look overdone, or mistaken for an Asian Lady Gaga impersonator. Here are some of my favorite products. Lips. A friend of mine turned me on to this Nars lipstick in Damage, a "sheer muted grape." I LOVE IT. Not only does it give me just the right amount of color, it feels great on the lips and is super moisturizing. Another shade to try is this CoverGirl Continuous Lipstick in Smokey Rose; it gives more coverage than a gloss, and is a hint darker than a blush pink, for that just bitten look.

Eyes. I rarely reach for anything except mascara when it comes to eyes. Eyeliner? I could never quite master it. But I do enjoy sweeping a stroke or two of a pretty eyeshadow across my lids. Shroom by MAC is a pale champagne with a bit of shimmer; it also doubles as a great brow highlighter! If I want to define eyes, I turn to this quad palette, Country Woods, by CoverGirl. I know varying shades of brown may not seem exciting, but they can make green, blue, hazel or brown eyes really stand out!

Cheeks. I've tried my hand at wearing blush, but it always felt a little too Barbie-ish for my tastes. Instead, I like using bronzers, because they look/feel more natura to me. Two I love are Clinque's True Bronze Pressed Powder Bronzer (comes in three shades), and Bonne Bell Bronzing Gel, a lightweight tinted gel that you can use on your face or body. I'll be buying several tubes this winter.
