5 Cute Winter-Appropriate Skirts

Winter always brings forth such a fashion conundrum. It's hard to break out of the jeans and sweater routine, right? This season I've vowed to dress my outfits up a bit with the addition of skirts. The main requirement? That they look good with black tights and sweaters. Here are five that range from comfy to practical to sassy. Fine Corduroy Snap Front Skirt, Urban Outfitters ($54, pictured). After flannel, there's not a more comfortable cold weather fabric than corduroy. This vintage-inspired skirt also comes in red and blue.

Essential Twill A-Line Skirt, Forever 21 ($18). As its name suggests, everyone needs a simple not-too-short a-line skirt.

Black Full Skater Skirt, Top Shop ($76). Just as twirly and swirly as a girly skater skirt, except this one's a bit tougher in black faux leather.

It's A New-tral Day Skirt, ModCloth ($78). This light brown herringbone twill is accented with big, red patch pockets and matching waistband.

Floral Printed Mini Skirt, Wet Seal ($19.50). It's winter, but if you're still jonesing for florals, opt for a darker hued pattern. This print with a black background does the trick.
