Alyson Noel Hearts...

Alyson Noel is the bestselling author of many books, including the Immortals series, and her new Soul Seekers series (the first two books are pictured). The Soul Seekers books are getting rave reviews from readers, and the characters each have a spiritual animal -- take a quiz to find out what yours is! Alyson is also way cool, and we asked her to tell us what she loves about this month in particular.  The entire month of December. Every day from 1 to 31 qualifies as a favorite. With a birthday at the beginning of the month, a reason to celebrate at the end of the month, and a name that means Christmas en Francais, it pretty much seems like December was destined to be my favorite time of the year -- and so it is.

Bliss Body Butter in Blood Orange & White Pepper. Okay, technically, this is available for purchase all year long, but I’m most partial to slathering myself in its awesomeness during December. While it’s not the most obvious of holiday scents, one whiff is enough to transport me right back to my childhood Christmas pasts, when my mom would bake Orange Rolls for breakfast. It was the only day of the year we would eat them, but with this body lotion, it’s almost like I can have them all month long -- sans the carbs, the sugar rush, and the calories!

Sparkle & Twinkle. I admit, I’m a sucker for sparkly, glittery bits. I think everything looks a little more exciting when it glimmers. From the holiday lights decorating the neighborhood houses, to the deluge of sequins at a New Year’s Eve bash, there’s no denying that December is the time to bring on the shine!

Giving. That old adage about it being better to give than receive… turns out it’s true!

♥ Christmas movies. Despite living in Southern California -- a place where Jack Frost rarely makes an appearance -- there’s nothing I love more than faking my own “snow day” with a cozy blanket, a roaring fire in the hearth, a frothy mug of hot chocolate, a box of tissues, and back-to-back viewings of It’s a Wonderful Life and Love Actually -- both of which never fail to make me cry.
