Runway Beauty for Real Life

badgley_mischka_beauty_spring_summer_2014_nyfw3Our beloved beauty maven Amber, a.k.a. Beauty Blogging Junkie, gives us the scoop on runway-inspired beauty looks from New York Fashion Week that are totally wearable and doable for every day. We swear.

Mermaid Lids. Shadows in marine-inspired shades of blue (at Badgely Mischka, pictured) and green (Lela Rose) ruled the runway. To make the look more IRL friendly, skip the blush and pair your aqua eye with a nude or nude-rose lipstick or gloss.

Citrus Lips and Tips. At Rag & Bone and Creatures of the Wind, bright orange pouts (like, traffic-sign bright) punctuated a fairly minimal makeup canvas. At Suno, red-orange popped on short, square-ish nails. This look is especially electrifying when coordinated with a charcoal or black outfit.

Messy Ponytails. At Pamella Roland, a deliberately disheveled '60s-inspired ponytail imparted a Cannes screen siren feel without a trace of preciousness. Perfect for second-day hair or if you're staving off a haircut until the last possible minute.
