Knit a Scarf for a Foster Care Package

red scarfWhen foster kids reach the age of 18, they are deemed adults, and they're no longer in the system. But how grown up does anyone feel at 18? Foster Care to Success is a non-profit that works with college-bound foster kids to set future goals, handle finances, navigate college life and more. Tuition grants, book money, living stipends and emergency funds are also a part of how FC2S helps, and they also provide personal mentors, academic coaches, internship opportunities and care packages for the students. This type of support is HUGE. Each year on Valentine's Day, FC2S sends a handmade red scarf in each care package sent to a student. Where do these scarves come from? You! Check out the guidelines and patterns for The Red Scarf Project, and if you're not a knitter, you can always send in a $5 donation to help this heart-warming project continue.
