Circa 1992-93, there was a nail color that every girl I knew wore. The exact name fails me, but it was made by L'Oreal and it was a clear, purple iridescent shade that was a step up from the normal clear polish my mom let me wear. I'm not sure when the color was discontinued -- I lost track of it when I graduated to wearing opaque polishes. BUT, I've found almost an exact replica of it: "Twinset and Pearls" by Ciate. And let me tell you, it's bringing me back to my retainer-wearing days!
With a couple of coats, your nails will shimmer like the inside of an abalone shell. And, yes, that might the first time I've ever used the word "abalone" while describing a beauty product. It feels great.
