Try a Smoky Eye With Color

silverlakeThe weekend is the time to play with new makeup. We talked to Brittany Spyksma, Blushington Makeup Artist and Beauty expert, about what mix of products creates a pretty but subtle eye look that works all day long:

"Try a smoky eye -- but with color! I love violet. Try pairing it with a nude lip or simple lip balm to really make your eyes pop.

"To achieve this look, try The Eye Pencil Primatif Pencil Eye Liner in Basic Black by Kevin Aucion Beauty topped with Silverlake Single Eye Shadow Palette by Julie Hewett (pictured).

"Add Convertible Color cream blush in Gerbera by Stila and top off your lips with Bijou Lipstick in Simone by Julie Hewett mixed with The Lip Gloss in Tammabelle by Kevyn Aucoin Beauty."

Thanks, Brittany! Now follow those color ideas to the letter, or pick out your own similar shades in the drugstore aisles to play with this look (and here's a great Smoky Eye tutorial for technique help). Happy Weekend!
