I love having a shiny, bright manicure, so much, that my natural nails hardly see the light of day. But when they do, it can sometimes be a rude awakening. Because polishes and removers have harsh chemicals, it's common for nails to become damaged, yellow and pretty much U-G-L-Y. However! I've decided to give some TLC to mine and let them breathe while they regain their health. Luckily, it's easy to do with all-natural ingredients that you can find in your kitchen!
Olive Oil. Pour a little bowl of EVOO and soak your nails for five minutes. It's moisturizing and contains Vitamin E and A for extra help.
Milk. The calcium from milk will strengthen nails while also whitening them. Have an Oreo while you're at it.
Lemon. If this is beginning to sound like a grocery list, well -- it sort of is. Lemon is another bleaching agent that gets the yellow out of dingy nails.
Hydrogen Peroxide + Baking Soda. We all did this in 4th grade science class, but now use your rudimentary chem skills to mix 1 tbsp baking soda with 2 1/4 tbsp hydrogen peroxide. Apply to nails to for 5-10 min. Clean, bright results.
