Today, I'm about to get real. I'm about to get real about the Diva Cup. For those of you not familiar with the wonders of TDC, it is your friend, your helper, your alternative to tampons and pads that will improve your monthly visit from the family member we all love to hate, Aunt Flo.
TDC is a reusable silicone cup that is worn internally that -- here comes a TMI moment -- is inserted into the vagina, and sits below the cervix to collect your menstrual flow.
What makes it better than your average tampon or pad? It can be worn up to 12 hours and you can't even tell it's there. I know, I know -- you probably have a million questions, so let met direct you here for the basics, or may I direct you to Vagina Pagina for first-hand accounts from users.
I won't lie. The actual product looks intimidating and it took me several attempts to feel comfortable using TDC, but I'll never look at another plastic plunger again. Remember, only you can decide what you're most comfortable with, so if it is a pad or a tampon you prefer, that's great!
Just know there ARE alternatives out there. Many girls and women prefer slightly different variations of the Diva Cup, like the Mooncupor Soft Cup. We're all in this together, for like, many, many decades to come, so here's to finding your preferred period product!
