Go See: "I Am Eleven"

I-am-elevenFor filmmaker Genevieve Bailey, 11 was a magical year -- her favorite age. So at age 24, after a major car accident and the passing of her father, she wanted to return to that 11-year-old world. Sheexplains, "The world felt big in a good way, and it was at my feet. With so much more information available at their fingertips now than we had when I was young, I wondered, are 11-year-olds still happy and excited about inheriting this crazy world? Are they having as much fun as I did when I was 11? Are they hopeful?" Genevieve spent six years traveling the world and talking to 11-year-olds everywhere from Indian orphanages to Manhattan's Upper East Side. The resulting film has played in Australia and is just being released in the US.
