The Gilmore Girls Are Everything

gilmore-girlsToday marks the day that we allow ourselves to shun texts, phone calls and the occasional homework assignment, because the entire Gilmore Girls series is available on Netflix!

Whether you're a veteran fan or a newbie, there's something for everyone, but here are some reasons -- or reminders -- of why Lorelai and Rory Gilmore (and company) are part of one of the best TV shows ever.Lane Kim. Rory's super smart, music obsessive, Korean-American best friend hid her awesome CD collection under the floor boards of her room, so her mom wouldn't find her stash of "inappropriate" consumption. The Smiths, the Ramones, David Bowie -- Lane's taste was impeccable. You could always depend on her for a good music rec.Jess Mariano (Milo Ventimiglia). Every TV series needs the dark, brooding love interest, with a troubled past and a good heart. Jess was Rory's first love -- in TV life and real life!

Luke's Diner. I always wanted an after school hangout where I could get a reliable grilled cheese and partake in witty rapid fire banter. I lived vicariously through Rory with each french fry nibble and retort.

Best Theme Song. I'd like to shake the hand of the person whose idea it was to use Carole King's "Where You Lead" as the Gilmore Girls theme song. I mean, my heart swells with kitten paws, rainbows and cooing babies every time I hear it.

So, who's joining me for a GG marathon? I have a one-way ticket to Stars Hollow waiting for me tonight -- who's coming with?
