It is a sad fact that I really can't draw. But sometimes, I want to get out of my hearts-and-stars doodle phase and really learn something. Like how to illustrate monsters.
I'll never be as good as author/illustrator Christopher Hart, but this book has enough tips and tricks in it to make me feel... not half bad. Learn how to create silly heads, wacky comic-strip scenes, and how to draw the differences between vampires and devils (hint: It's mainly horn- and fang-related).
Use this book to entertain your babysitting charges or to while away weekend days doing something "productive" (learning to be a graphic artist, hello.) Mostly: Monstrously Funny Cartoons is a hoot. Which is reason enough to pick it up.
