Mom's Beauty Advice: Eye Cream

healty-skin-eye-creamWhen I was a senior in high school, my mom handed me a pot of eye cream and told me, "Annie, start using this. You should always take care of your eyes." Back then, I thought she was cuh-razy, but now that I'm a little older, I'm grateful for it. The eye cream habit stuck, and whether or not it's preventing any wrinkles or lines, I'll never know, but hey! My skin at least looks and feels soft and smooth.

Due to freebies and un-ending curiousity, I've probably tried -- no exaggeration -- at least 25 different kinds of eye cream, budget and luxury, and I can say that my favorite is Neutrogena's Healthy Skin Eye Cream ($14).

It goes on light and easy, absorbs fast, and unlike many formulas, this cream doesn't burn or irritate the sensitive skin around eyes (as a contact lens wearer, this is important!).

Don't start using eye cream because you're afraid of aging or wrinkles -- that's just silly! But like taking a vitamin or moisturizing your cuticles, it's good to pay attention to the little things.
